First Lady Dianne Bentley Is NovemberGuest Speaker
We welcome First Lady Dianne Jones Bentley to our November luncheon meeting. As we begin the holiday season in the coming weeks, we are truly thankful for such an inspirational first lady.
Mrs. Bentley is originally from Montgomery and we’re delighted she has returned as our first lady. She is a graduate of Sidney Lanier High School and then continued to the University of Alabama to pursue a degree in bacteriology. She met Robert Bentley during his first year of medical school and married him on July 24, 1965.
She has chosen to promote volunteerism, families, and children across the state. Mrs. Bentley wants Alabama citizens to know there are opportunities to get involved. By doing so, everyone benefits. Consider bringing a friend to this special November luncheon meeting.
We welcome Alabama's First Lady Dianne Bentley to our November luncheon meeting.
Our menu is roasted breast of turkey, cream mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberries and natural sauce. For dessert, we’ll have carrot cake with toasted pecan butterscotch sauce.
The cost is $22 per person with reservations to Brenda Newton at jannew3b@aol.com or 546-6992 by noon on Tuesday, November 15. Those making reservations and not attending will be billed by CCRW. Please allow 24 hours notice for cancellations.
Amy Blankenship, right, was our guest speaker at our second CCRW Meet & Mingle in October. A member of the corporate relations department of Alabama Power, Amy gave a talk about the EPA and how we can use our voice for activism and to oppose job-killing regulation. Sample letters you can use to write both the EPA and our elected officials are available on this link.
She also introduced a new rate plan from Alabam Power Company and encouraged everyone to get a free energy audit from the company.
We look forward to more educational speakers at our future CCRW Meet & Mingle gatherings. Agriculture Commissioner John McMillan was on hand, too, and answer questions from guests. Amy is joined here by CCRW Member Marcia Chambliss.
We hope you are keeping track of the time you spend volunteering for the GOP. AFRW and NFRW like to know how much time we actually give to the GOP cause, and award prizes at the annual AFRW Conference to the clubs whose volunteers are the most active. Joan Powers keeps track of our volunteer hours and will accept your hours at our regular luncheon meetings. Thank you! Click here for the form.
